HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) disclosed that it bought back a total of 1.99 million ordinary shares on 13 August 2026 under the share-repurchase programme announced on 5 August 2026.
In London, HSBC acquired 1.65 million shares via UK trading venues at prices ranging between £15.1960 and £15.4340, generating a volume-weighted average price of £15.3244.
On the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the bank purchased 0.34 million shares at prices between HK$161.2000 and HK$162.9000, with a volume-weighted average price of HK$162.3771.
Cumulatively since the programme’s launch, HSBC has bought back 6.67 million shares for approximately US$137.60 million. Following cancellation of the UK-traded shares, the group’s issued ordinary share capital and voting rights stand at 17.18 billion shares; a further update will follow once the Hong Kong-traded shares are cancelled.
All London trades were executed as on-exchange market purchases under the UK Companies Act 2006, while Hong Kong transactions were classified as on-market share buy-backs under local listing rules.
