Bank of China Completes RMB50.00 Billion Tier-2 Bond Issuance at 1.93% Coupon

Bank of China Limited has finalized the issuance of write-down Tier 2 capital bonds totaling RMB50.00 billion in China’s interbank bond market.

The 10-year fixed-rate notes carry a 1.93% coupon and grant the bank a redemption option at the end of year five. Issuance began on 12 June 2026 and closed on 16 June 2026.

Proceeds will be used to replenish the bank’s Tier 2 capital, aligning with approvals from shareholders and regulators. The offering forms part of the RMB450.00 billion multi-currency capital instrument program approved at the 18 July 2025 shareholders’ meeting.
