A July 2026 report on e-commerce complaint data has been published by the Black Cat Big Data Center in collaboration with the Black Cat Complaint platform. This report analyzes industry trends and key issues in the e-commerce sector for July 2026, using complaint data to review consumer behavior patterns.
Overall, the platform received 106,987 valid complaints about e-commerce businesses in July 2026, a 16.97% decrease from June. The decline is attributed to the conclusion of the June 18 promotional event, which typically leads to a reduction in consumer grievances.
Regarding complaints filed against merchants, the three most complained-about e-commerce companies in July were Pinduoduo, Douyin, and JD.com. Both JD.com and Pinduoduo saw a significant drop in response rates, with both falling below 20%. Taobao and Tmall did not respond to any complaints.
The most common issues raised in complaints during July were related to customer service, followed by refund problems and product quality concerns.
Finally, the Black Cat platform reminds consumers that it does not charge any fees for resolving disputes. Any individual or organization claiming to be an official partner of the platform and charging for complaint resolution is impersonating Black Cat. Consumers should remain vigilant, report such accounts to the platform, and contact the police. After a complaint is filed on the Black Cat platform, the resolution process is handled directly between the consumer and the company involved. Black Cat platform staff will not proactively contact consumers to assist with refunds. Consumers should always use official channels for dispute resolution and avoid relying on third-party agencies or individuals who offer to handle refunds, as this could lead to scams. If you encounter fraud, report it to the police immediately. Official complaint channels include: the Black Cat Complaint website, the Black Cat Complaint app, and the Black Cat Complaint mini-program. If you find a counterfeit account, please report it to the official email address.
To prevent personal information leaks and fraud, consumers should take the following precautions: 1. Before submitting a complaint, carefully review the text and images for any exposed private information, such as names, phone numbers, addresses, order numbers, or tracking numbers. Blur or hide such information if necessary. 2. Only use official channels to resolve disputes. Do not trust private messages, comments, or contacts offering alternative solutions, especially those claiming to be staff members. Avoid adding strangers on QQ or WeChat, and be wary of anyone promising prioritized processing or special channels for refunds. 3. Do not provide sensitive information like bank card numbers, passwords, ID numbers, or verification codes to strangers. Avoid making payments through QR codes or unfamiliar links. Report any fraudulent activity to the police. 4. Be cautious of calls from international numbers starting with "00", even if the display name seems legitimate. 5. Legitimate customer service teams will process refunds through the original payment method. If someone asks for a refund via QQ, Alipay, WeChat, or a website link, be suspicious. Do not provide personal information or make transfers for "release fees", "verification fees", or "deposits". To focus resources on serving consumers effectively, the Black Cat platform currently only accepts complaints about real disputes encountered during actual consumption.
