Ondas Holdings Inc. (ONDS) saw its stock price soar 5.04% during intraday trading on Wednesday. The significant upward movement follows the company's announcement of a strategic acquisition.
The surge is attributed to Ondas completing the acquisition of BIRD Aerosystems, a global developer of Airborne Missile Protection Systems (AMPS) and airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solutions. The deal marks Ondas' entry into the airborne and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) missile protection market, adding a combat-proven technology platform installed on more than 700 aircraft globally.
Company executives stated that integrating BIRD's advanced sensing, missile warning, and countermeasure technologies will strengthen Ondas' defense architecture and support its strategy of delivering integrated multi-domain mission solutions for defense and security operators.
