U.S. stocks rebounded last Friday, with oil prices trending downward, which helped pull bond yields lower and lifted market sentiment, as all three major indices finished with gains. The U.S. dollar weakened, with the 10-year Treasury yield slipping to the 5.16% level, gold prices rebounding from lows, and oil prices continuing to decline.
Today, Hong Kong's three major indices opened higher across the board. The Hang Seng Index opened up 0.18% at 24,554.58 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.29%, and the China Enterprises Index gained 0.36%.
On the board, internet stocks advanced broadly, with NetEase and Tencent (ASX: 00700) climbing more than 1%; auto stocks were active, with GAC Group rising over 2%; Chinese brokerage stocks mostly gained, with Guolian Minsheng up more than 3%; gold stocks fell broadly, with Zijin Gold International dropping over 2%.
