Chinese authorities modified a decade long rule that restrict financial data sharing. So US regulators "may" have a chance to gain access to audit reports. Still early to tell how this will work out and if full access will eventually come. Also waiting for SEC reply on this since this is just a one sided announcement from the Chinese. Hopefully both parties can work out something.

The U.S.-listed shares of China-based companies surged in premarket trading Friday, after Bloomberg reported that Chinese authorities are in the process of giving U.S. regulators full access to auditing reports. That would allow China-based companies to remain listed on U.S. exchanges, removing an overhang that has weighed on the American depositary receipts (ADRs) of China-based companies. The US Securities and Exchange Commission has moved closer to delisting certain Chinese companies, identifying the first batch of five that will have to provide proof of audit compliance by the end of March. Failing to do so means they will have to delist from New York’s stock exchange by 2024.
