US August PPI Grows 5.4% Year-on-Year, Beats Estimate

US August PPI rose 5.4% y/y vs 5.3% expected, prior revised up to 4.8% from 4.7%.
US August PPI rose 0.4% m/m vs 0.4% expected, prior revised to +0.1% from 0.0%.
U.S. core PPI for August rose 0.2% MoM, below the 0.3% consensus; July's reading was revised up to 0.3% from 0.2%.
US initial jobless claims for the week ended Sept. 5: 206,000 vs. 205,000 expected; prior week revised up to 207,000 from 206,000.
After PPI data release, U.S. Treasury yields rose: 10-year +5.63bps to 4.893%, 2-year +5.96bps to 4.487%. 30-year rose to 5.3381%, the highest since 2007.
