Wuxi High-Tech Zone Tops City Rankings in Data Industry Composite Index, Building a New High Ground for Digital Economy

Deep News12-22

Wuxi High-Tech Zone (Xinwu District) has recently been approved as China's "Digital Port · Data Industry Cluster Zone," marking a more solid step forward as a pioneer in data industry development. According to the district's Data Bureau, the core digital economy industries in Wuxi High-Tech Zone have achieved revenues exceeding 360 billion yuan. As of October this year, these industries accounted for 42.1% of the district's total revenue, with its composite index ranking first citywide.

Aligned with national data industry cluster construction goals, Wuxi High-Tech Zone took the lead in establishing a specialized task force for the Data Industry Cluster Zone (Pilot Area). The initiative focuses on key elements such as industrial scale, technological innovation, resource allocation efficiency, and regional collaboration, forming a closed-loop mechanism of "target-setting, project implementation, and action-planning." Through a framework of "institutional guidance—technical support—application empowerment," the district has coordinated cross-departmental efforts to draft a three-year action plan for the data industry cluster.

To date, nearly 600 enterprises in the district have been included in the *Wuxi Data Industry Map*, with 63 registered data merchants. The zone has developed 110 data products, recording over 40 million yuan in transaction filings—the highest in the city. Additionally, it has established the nation's first industrial digital data asset registration platform and completed Jiangsu Province's first corporate data asset equity registration. Other innovations include the city's first cross-border data service compliance filing, smart parking data product registration in tech parks, commercialization of bioacoustic datasets, and transactions of low-altitude remote sensing data products.

Billion-yuan industrial clusters, such as integrated circuits and biopharmaceuticals, serve as continuous sources of high-quality data, providing a natural training ground for AI model migration and generalization. This year, Wuxi High-Tech Zone has accelerated the integration of trusted data spaces with its leading industries, including new energy and biopharmaceuticals. It has secured one national pilot for trusted data space innovation, two provincial-level "123+" trusted data space projects, and one municipal-level case. The district also launched the city's first "Xishu Bao" product based on new energy industry data spaces.

Furthermore, the zone has established nearly 10 data industry-related funds, totaling over 10 billion yuan, and invested in more than 30 data enterprises. It has also pioneered cross-regional data circulation cooperation in Jiangsu, partnering with Haizhou District in Lianyungang to set up a data transaction workstation, fostering north-south collaboration in data initiatives.
