5月20日，据阿拉伯电视台报道，消息人士表示，各方正在认真工作，为华盛顿与德黑兰之间的协议文本做最后润色。巴基斯坦陆军参谋长可能于明天访问伊朗，宣布协议文本的最终版本已完成。如果巴基斯坦陆军参谋长不前往伊朗，则协议文本的最终版本可能会在数小时内宣布完成。下一轮谈判将在朝觐季节之后于伊斯兰堡举行。
受该消息影响，美股三大指数拉升，纳斯达克100指数涨幅扩大至1%，标普500指数涨0.6%，纳指涨近1%；美、布两油短线走低超1美元，现分别报103.16美元/桶和102.76美元/桶；现货黄金短线走高近30美元，最高至4502.89美元/盎司。
