Stock split do not affect its earning or change it's valuation. It only provide more liquidity since it's at a lower price, allowing more people to participate in buy/sell. While it normally help to boost the price, but in a negative market sentiment, it might also leads to more price dip due to the increase liquidity. This split cuts both ways
