Bank of China Completes Issuance of 50 Billion Yuan in Tier-2 Capital Bonds

Bank of China (03988) announced that, with approval from relevant regulatory authorities, the Bank issued a total of 50 billion yuan of write-down Tier-2 capital bonds (the Bonds) on the National Interbank Bond Market on December 22, 2025, with the issuance completed on December 24, 2025. The Bonds consist of two tranches. Tranche One is a 10-year fixed-rate bond with an issuance scale of 48 billion yuan, a coupon rate of 2.22%, and includes an issuer call option at the end of the fifth year; Tranche Two is a 10-year floating-rate bond with an issuance scale of 2 billion yuan, an initial coupon rate of 2.25% for the first interest period, and also includes an issuer call option at the end of the fifth year. The funds raised from the issuance of the Bonds will be used to supplement the Bank's Tier-2 capital, in accordance with applicable laws and the approvals of the regulatory authorities.
