Greenland-linked shares rallied on Wednesday. Greenland Energy soared 75.79%; Greenland Mines up 30.96%.
Trump posted that large-scale oil, gas and mineral exploration will soon begin in Greenland. He cited experts who say easily recoverable oil reserves there exceed almost any onshore deposits worldwide.
He added Greenland offers unmatched strategic value for US and European defense, arguing any attack on the United States would transit Greenland and that US air defenses there would routinely intercept drones, missiles and other weapons—providing time, positioning and surveillance advantages.
