Hold Stocks or Cash Over the National Day Holiday? Expert Says A-Shares Could Bounce Back in Q4

Deep News09-29 15:41

The National Day long holiday is approaching, and whether to hold stocks or cash during the break has once again become a focal point for investors.

Yang Delong, chief economist at Qianhai Open Source Fund, told China-Singapore Jingwei that the A-share market has undergone sufficient adjustment in the third quarter, risks in technology stocks have been released to some extent, and A-shares are expected to usher in a rebound in the fourth quarter.

The Shanghai Composite Index is currently approaching the 3,800-point mark, which is regarded as an important lower bound of this year's market fluctuations. Therefore, if investors hold high-quality stocks rather than stocks driven by speculation on themes and concepts, they can choose to hold stocks through the holiday and wait for recovery opportunities in the fourth quarter.

"Of course, if the position is too heavy, one can also choose to appropriately reduce holdings before the holiday, keeping the position at around 50% to 70%, so as to be able to attack and defend."

During the holiday, the A-share market is closed, while overseas markets such as the U.S. stock market trade normally. Yang Delong said that U.S. stock trends have a relatively large impact on the A-share market's opening after the holiday.

From the perspective of industries and sectors, the performance of AI technology sectors such as chips and computing power is gradually being realized, and they may take the lead in rebounding in the fourth quarter. Robotics, innovative drugs, solid-state batteries and others may also present opportunities for rotation.
