Hong Kong stocks kicked off Friday's session on a firm footing, with all three major benchmark indices opening in positive territory. This follows a rebound on Wall Street on Thursday, where a pullback in bond yields provided a boost to equities, helping all three major U.S. indices close higher.
The dollar eased from recent highs, while the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury note slipped to around 4.93%. Gold prices trended upward, and oil prices showed a modestly softer tone. Against this backdrop, the Hang Seng Index opened up 0.49% at 24,723.85 points, the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.41%, and the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index gained 0.34%.
Sector-wise, internet and technology stocks were mostly higher, with Baidu and Alibaba climbing over 1%, while Bilibili slipped more than 1%. The optical communications segment opened on a strong note, with Zhongji Innolight advancing over 2%. AI application stocks were notably active, as MiniMax surged more than 3%. Gold-related counters also saw a rebound, with Tongguan Gold gaining over 4%.
