Super Micro Sees Strong Margins, Books $60 Billion in Orders; Shares Jump

Super Micro Computer said on Tuesday it had secured more than $60 billion in new orders in ‌the fourth quarter, and now expects gross margin to exceed its previous forecast, sending its shares surging 24.5% this week.

The AI server maker expects gross margins in the range of 15% to 17% for the quarter ended June 30, well above its earlier forecast of 8.2% to 8.4%, "primarily due to a favorable customer and product mix."

Super Micro's backlog grew to "record levels" at the ‌end of fiscal year 2026, it said in a preliminarily statement of results.

Dell Technologies shares also jumped 10.4% this week, as Super Micro Computer’s earnings boosted Wall Street’s confidence about companies in the artificial intelligence infrastructure business.

Wabtec Tops Q2 2026 Estimates, Lifts Outlook as Shares Jump

Westinghouse Air Brake reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter 2026 results, with adjusted earnings of $2.76 a share on revenue of $3.18 billion, beating Wall Street estimates of $2.60 and $3.07 billion, respectively.

The railroad equipment and technology company said sales rose 17.5% from a year earlier, while adjusted profit climbed 21.6%.

Shares rose 15.4% this week, as investors responded to the earnings beat, higher guidance and signs of broad-based demand.

Lockheed Martin, RTX Lift 2026 Forecasts as Pentagon Looks to Restock Weapons

The world's two biggest defense contractors, Lockheed Martin and RTX, said on Thursday they expect strong profits going forward because a wave of global conflicts from Iran to Ukraine has depleted Pentagon stockpiles that will need replenishing.

Investors cheered the news, pushing shares of Lockheed up 14.5% and boosting RTX 10% this week.

US President Donald Trump has been urging defense contractors to ‌increase production as the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran and a prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict drain the Pentagon's inventory.

Digital Realty Trades up After Strong Q2 Earnings Reflect Robust Demand

Digital Realty Trust stock gained 14.5% this week as the digital infrastructure REIT posted stronger-than-expected Q2 earnings and boosted its full-year guidance.

The data center REIT now expects constant-currency core FFO per share (excluding net promote) of $8.10-$815 (midpoint $8.05), vs. the average analyst estimate of $8.04 and up from its prior guidance of $8.00-$8.10. Total revenue is expected to be $6.850B-$6.950B (midpoint $6.900B), compared with the $6.77B consensus and its previous outlook of $6.650B-$6.750B.

Its guidance for adjusted EBITDA increased to $3.750B-$3.850B from its prior view of $3.650B-$3.750B and S&P CapIQ consensus of $3.666B.

International Paper Surges as Containerboard Price Hike Boosts Outlook

International Paper shares jumped 12.3% this week as reports that North American containerboard producers are set to raise prices by $140 per ton starting in September.

Analysts said higher containerboard prices should improve profitability as rising freight costs and tight supply support stronger pricing across the industry. The expected increase has fueled optimism that International Paper will benefit from improved earnings momentum.

The rally comes despite International Paper recently lowering its 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook to $3.2 billion-$3.5 billion from a previous forecast of $3.5 billion-$3.7 billion. Even so, investors appeared to focus on the potential earnings boost from higher containerboard prices, driving the stock sharply higher.

Allegion Stock Jump on Strong Second Quarter Beat

Allegion reported second quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations, with adjusted earnings per share of $2.40, surpassing the consensus estimate of $2.21 by $0.19.

Shares of the security products provider rose 11.8% this week.

Revenue reached $1.15 billion, beating the $1.12 billion estimate and representing a 12.7% increase from $1.02 billion in the prior year period.

The company raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS outlook to a range of $8.85 to $9.00, up from previous guidance. However, the company’s reported EPS guidance of $7.95 to $8.10 fell short of the analyst consensus of $8.79.

SLB Profit Beats as Strength Outside Middle East Offsets War Disruptions

SLB topped Wall Street expectations for second-quarter profit and forecast sequential revenue growth, as strength outside the Middle East offset disruptions from ‌the Iran war, sending its shares up 11.6% this week.

The world's largest oilfield services provider expects global third-quarter revenue to grow 3% to 4% sequentially under its base-case scenario, with a gradual recovery in the Middle East.

SLB also projected materially higher free cash flow in the second half of 2026 and said it expects more contract awards in the coming weeks and months that would strengthen its market position in the Middle East.

AT&T Tops Targets for New Wireless Subscribers as Bundle Offers Spur Demand

AT&T topped quarterly estimates for wireless subscriber additions on Wednesday as cheaper unlimited plans paired with bundled mobile-broadband ‌offerings drew in value-conscious customers, sending its shares up 10.6% this week.

The gains build on AT&T's broader convergence strategy of selling multiple connectivity services to the same household to reduce churn and increase customer lifetime value as U.S. telecom providers chase the same finite pool of users.

The bundled offerings also helped the company post record broadband additions, with 367,000 new fiber internet users and 279,000 fixed wireless subscribers.
