On December 21, Qingdao Port's tugboat "Qinggang Tug 16" executed a high-stakes maritime emergency operation. Through coordinated efforts, a crew member suffering from acute illness aboard the anchored vessel "Anchi" was successfully evacuated for medical treatment, demonstrating the port's professional emergency response capabilities and commitment to prioritizing life safety.
At 9:00 AM, "Qinggang Tug 16" received an urgent dispatch from the command center reporting a medical emergency aboard the "Anchi" at Dongjiakou Anchorage No.1. The crew member exhibited symptoms including sensory impairment (tactile and visual dysfunction) due to suspected food allergy, accompanied by left hip pain and numbness in the lower left leg, requiring immediate shore-based medical attention.
The tugboat immediately activated its maritime emergency protocol. The captain reported the situation while proceeding at full speed to the incident location. During transit, the vessel established multi-party communication channels with command authorities, the "Anchi," and shore facilities, continuously updating position data and ETA to ensure seamless coordination.
A temporary rescue team comprising experienced deck officers and sailors conducted equipment checks on cranes, stretchers, and lifesaving gear while preparing for patient transfer and psychological support. Contingency plans were thoroughly rehearsed.
By 10:00 AM, "Qinggang Tug 16" reached the "Anchi." After assessing sea conditions and implementing safety measures, rescuers secured the patient on a stretcher and executed a stable crane transfer to the tugboat, accompanied by two assisting crew members.
At 11:00 AM, the vessel docked at Donggang Pool Berth No.1, where awaiting ambulances and medical personnel promptly transported the patient to hospital. The two-hour operation showcased Qingdao Port's efficient emergency response system, both testing its rescue capabilities and highlighting its dedication to maritime worker welfare.
