Passenger Vehicle Association Reports 285,000 New Energy Vehicle Retail Sales in First Half of March, Down 28% Year-on-Year

On March 18, the Passenger Vehicle Association released market data. From March 1 to 15, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide reached 285,000 units, representing a 28% decrease compared to the same period last March but a 36% increase from the previous month. Cumulative retail sales since the beginning of the year totaled 1.345 million units, down 26% year-on-year. During the same period, wholesale deliveries of new energy vehicles by automakers nationwide amounted to 325,000 units, a 19% decline compared to the same period last March but a 47% rise from the prior month. Year-to-date wholesale volume reached 1.914 million units, reflecting a 10% decrease from the previous year.
