At the 2025 China Customs Development Conference, the results of the "Cross-Border Trade Business Environment Evaluation for Container Goods at Seaports" were announced. Qingdao Port received the highest rating—4.5 stars—ranking first among all participating ports in overall performance and service efficiency. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Qingdao Port has achieved the "highest rating."
As a key international shipping hub in China, Qingdao Port has made significant progress in optimizing its port business environment in recent years. By collaborating with the Qingdao Municipal Government Office (Port Office) to establish a dedicated task force, the port has analyzed each logistics process, focusing on streamlining operations, improving efficiency, and reducing costs. These efforts have helped build a world-class seaport and enhance its competitiveness.
**Flattened Service Communication, Tangible Support for Enterprises**
Qingdao Port has worked closely with the Qingdao Municipal Government, Qingdao Customs, Shandong Maritime Safety Administration, and Shandong Border Inspection to implement 137 cross-border trade facilitation reforms over four years. Through targeted initiatives like the "Precision Drip Irrigation" campaign, the port has established a "Cross-Border Trade Facilitation Express" service mechanism, significantly improving communication efficiency and providing more convenient services for import and export businesses.
**Enhanced Trade Facilitation, Faster Customs Clearance**
Qingdao Port has actively promoted the development of the "Customs-Port Connect" platform, integrating data from customs, maritime authorities, border inspection, and enterprises. This has effectively reduced inspection and clearance times for import and export goods, saving businesses substantial time and costs. Additionally, the port has contributed to the construction of smart ports, smart customs, smart border inspection, and smart maritime systems. Its practices have been recognized as national benchmarks for smart port development, with three cases selected among the "Top 10" provincial-level innovations for optimizing port business environments.
This latest accolade underscores Qingdao Port's leadership in improving port business conditions. Looking ahead, Qingdao Port will continue collaborating with government agencies and enterprises to enhance service quality, foster a more business-friendly environment, and support the high-quality development of China's foreign trade.
