Tencent (0700.HK) reported its unaudited consolidated results for the three and nine months ended 30 September 2025. Third-quarter revenues reached RMB192.9 billion, up 15% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter. Gross profit rose 22% year-on-year to RMB108.8 billion. Operating profit stood at RMB63.6 billion, up 19% year-on-year, while profit for the period was RMB64.9 billion, representing a 20% increase from the same period last year. For the nine-month period, revenues increased by 14% year-on-year to RMB557.4 billion, while profit reached RMB170.7 billion, up 18%.
Among key business segments, Value-Added Services (VAS) revenue grew 16% year-on-year to RMB95.9 billion in the third quarter, bolstered by recently released titles like Delta Force and higher contributions from long-standing games. Marketing Services revenue increased 21% year-on-year to RMB36.2 billion, supported by AI-enhanced ad targeting. FinTech and Business Services climbed 10% year-on-year to RMB58.2 billion, reflecting robust commercial payment trends and rising AI-related cloud service demand.
Operating figures showed Weixin and WeChat combined MAU of 1,414 million as of 30 September 2025, up 2% year-on-year, while Mobile QQ MAU was 517 million. Fee-based VAS subscriptions remained steady at 265 million. The company’s domestic game Delta Force featured among the top three titles industry-wide by gross receipts, while internationally, Clash Royale hit record monthly active users and revenue in September.
Tencent also highlighted increased AI applications in areas such as ad targeting, coding, and content production, with the HunYuan foundation model showing improvements in image and 3D generation. Meanwhile, commercial payment volumes grew at a faster pace than the prior quarter, and cloud services revenue benefited from higher enterprise demand linked to AI and eCommerce initiatives.
