Bank of China Successfully Issues 30 Billion Yuan in Perpetual Capital Bonds

Bank of China Limited (ASX: 601988) has announced the successful completion of its issuance of non-fixed-term capital bonds with loss-absorption features.
The bonds, totaling 30 billion yuan, were issued in the national interbank bond market on July 20, 2026, with the issuance process concluding on July 22, 2026.
The initial five-year coupon rate for the bonds is set at 1.91%, with adjustments scheduled every five years thereafter. The bonds also include an issuer call option exercisable on each interest payment date from the fifth year onwards.
Proceeds from the bond offering are designated to replenish the bank's Additional Tier 1 capital, subject to approvals from relevant laws and regulatory authorities.
