Deep News08-26 19:30

The A-share STAR Market's top-valued stock, Semight Instruments Co.,Ltd., has delivered a blockbuster half-year report, with both revenue and profit expanding by multiples and a marked improvement in operational quality.

According to the company's announcement, revenue for the first half of 2026 reached RMB 1.531 billion, up 208.71% year-on-year, while net profit attributable to shareholders stood at RMB 567 million, a surge of 903.00%. Excluding non-recurring gains and losses, net profit hit RMB 562 million, representing an even higher growth rate of 944.35%. Net cash flow generated from operating activities reached RMB 548 million, a sharp turnaround from a negative figure in the same period last year.

The company also announced plans to convert capital reserves into share capital at a ratio of 4.8 additional shares for every 10 shares held by all shareholders, without distributing cash dividends or bonus shares. Such a conversion plan is typically interpreted by the market as a signal of the company's confidence in future growth and is also expected to enhance stock liquidity.

Triple-Digit Growth Across Revenue and Profit

The interim report from Semight Instruments Co.,Ltd. shows that first-half 2026 revenue climbed by approximately RMB 1.035 billion from RMB 496 million in the prior-year period, while net profit jumped by over RMB 510 million from RMB 56.55 million, an increase of 903%. The pace of profit growth far outpacing revenue growth highlights significant economies of scale.

Total profit for the period reached RMB 614 million, up 961.32% year-on-year. Basic earnings per share came in at RMB 6.63, compared to RMB 0.73 a year earlier, marking an 808.22% increase. The weighted average return on equity soared to 31.10%, up 23.10 percentage points from the prior year, reflecting a substantial leap in profitability.

In terms of asset size, total assets stood at RMB 5.532 billion by the end of the reporting period, up 207.57% from RMB 1.800 billion at the end of the previous year. Net assets attributable to shareholders reached RMB 3.388 billion, up 277.56% from RMB 897 million, meaning the company's asset base more than tripled within six months.

The report attributes the revenue growth to the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, rising global demand for computing power, and accelerated data center construction. The sustained high growth in demand for high-speed optical communications products, coupled with strong expansion intentions among optical module and optical chip manufacturers, has driven up demand for the company's communication testing instruments and optoelectronic device testing equipment, thereby boosting sales and revenue.

Founded in 2017, Semight Instruments Co.,Ltd. holds a core advantage in the optical communications testing sector through its simultaneous coverage of the three key testing stages of the industry chain: modules, chips, and wafers, a capability that is extremely rare domestically. On the secondary market, since its listing on April 24, the stock has trended upward with fluctuations, accumulating a gain of over 199%. As of the close on August 26, Semight Instruments Co.,Ltd. was trading at RMB 2,259 per share, ranking first on the A-share market with a total market capitalization of RMB 231.9 billion.

Capital Structure and Shareholder Profile

As of the end of the reporting period, the company had a total of 13,928 shareholders. The largest shareholder, Hu Haiyang, holds a 15.41% stake with 15.82 million shares, all of which are restricted shares. Among the top ten shareholders, Hu Haiyang, Huang Jianjun, Yang Jian, and several affiliated partnerships are acting in concert, holding a relatively high combined stake, indicating a fairly concentrated ownership structure.

The proposed share conversion plan, based on the total share capital recorded on the equity distribution record date, will issue 4.8 additional shares for every 10 shares held, with no cash dividends or bonus shares involved. Upon completion of the conversion, the company's total share capital will expand accordingly, and the per-share price will be adjusted.
