ABC Vice President Meng Fanjun: Leveraging Intelligent Technology to Expand Wealth Service Boundaries Is a Key Path to Enhancing Service Availability and Inclusiveness

Deep News10-17 12:20

October 17 Financial Frontline News - The Global Wealth Management Forum 2026 Shanghai Suhewan Conference was held in Shanghai from October 16 to 17, 2026, with Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ASX: 601288) Vice President Meng Fanjun attending and participating in the meeting.

Meng Fanjun stated that the current global market landscape continues to adjust, with challenges and opportunities coexisting. How to strengthen the financial resilience of the global wealth management industry and seize long-term development opportunities amid changes is a subject that colleagues around the world need to address together. Drawing from the practices of the Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ASX: 601288), he outlined five key areas: first, deeply cultivating customers to solidify the foundation for development; second, pursuing open cooperation and mutual benefit by bringing together global partners; third, being driven by demand creation and focusing innovation on the essence of customer needs; fourth, empowering through digital intelligence to build an integrated online plus offline service system; and fifth, safeguarding the bottom line by protecting trust with professionalism.

Meng Fanjun pointed out that as the world's second-largest wealth management market, China has a continuously growing middle-income group. Residents' demands are rapidly upgrading from simply purchasing products to diversified needs such as asset allocation, retirement planning, cross-border wealth arrangements, and family wealth inheritance. Currently, the Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ASX: 601288) serves more than 900 million individual customers, manages over 25 trillion yuan in individual customer financial assets, and maintains an average daily balance of over 21 trillion yuan in individual deposits.

At the same time, in his view, leveraging intelligent technology to expand the boundaries of wealth services is an important path to enhancing service availability and inclusiveness. The bank is comprehensively advancing three tracks: offline branch ecosystem, online scenario operations, and digital direct marketing, to build a collaborative and three-dimensional service network.

From the specific practices of the Agricultural Bank Of China Limited (ASX: 601288), he stated that the bank has fully implemented digital direct marketing, building a 2+2+2 direct service model that uses scenarios and demands as entry points, data and channels as foundations, and precise delivery of products and benefits. The bank continues to improve data tool empowerment, relying on enterprise-level AI assistants to strengthen business integration, enhance capabilities in demand insight, wealth diagnosis, and intelligent recommendations, and provide thousands of personalized wealth services to customers through human-machine collaboration, promoting high-quality financial services to reach customers with greater efficiency and broader coverage.

Meng Fanjun stated that wealth management is connected to the preservation and appreciation of residents' wealth on one end and the long-term capital supply of the real economy on the other. For the industry to achieve steady and long-term development, it cannot do without the resource aggregation brought by open cooperation, the continuous innovation centered on customer needs, and the positive interaction between the wealth industry and the real economy. These three elements together build the resilient foundation for wealth management development.
