HSBC Updates Voting Rights: Issued Share Capital Stands at 17.17 Billion Ordinary Shares

HSBC Holdings plc (HSBC) announced that, as of 31 August 2026, its issued share capital comprised 17.17 billion ordinary shares with a nominal value of US$0.50 each. No shares are held in treasury, leaving the total number of voting rights identical at 17.17 billion.

The disclosure—made in line with the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rule 5.6.1—provides the denominator shareholders must use when determining whether their holdings trigger disclosure obligations under the FCA rules or Part XV of Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance.
