Oil Jumps 2% as Iran Warns Conflict Could Spread to Indian Ocean If US or Israel Strikes Again

Fars News Agency reported Supreme Leader’s military adviser Safavi warned that if the US or Israel again attacks Iran’s national centers or interests, the conflict could expand beyond the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea, the Bab al‑Mandeb and ultimately the Indian Ocean.
Brent oil futures jumped 2.15% to $100.23 a barrel while WTI oil futures rose 1.83% to $93.85 a barrel on the news.
Safavi added renewed US military action could spark new fighting near the Red Sea and Bab al‑Mandeb.
Tehran’s warning signals any future confrontation could widen substantially and risk disruption to regional security and major shipping lanes.
