    During times of supply shortages (which is what's happening now in the Semicon industry), suppliers will go into allocation mode (how they allocate "fairly" to all their long-term customers without badly damaging this long term relationship).One trick which the buyers will likely use is to hype up their forecasts so that they'll still get enough even if for eg. they're only allocated 80% of their forecasts.That's why the projected demand most likely may not be 'real'.
