With US futures trading lower this morning on Thursday, some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are as follows:
- Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) held its first Investor Day event on Wednesday, where the company’s presentation largely focuses on sustainability efforts and efficiency, with no solid news about new or refreshed car models or financial projections. Tesla shares dropped 5.1% to $192.39 in premarket trading Thursday.
- Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) shares jumped 14.7 to $192.00 in premarket trading Thursday after the cloud-based enterprise software provider posted better-than-expected results for its latest quarter. The company, which has received increased attention from activist investors in recent months, also announced an expansion of its stock repurchase program to $20 billion from $10 billion.
- Shares of Snowflake Inc. (NYSE:SNOW) fell more than 7.3% to $143.2 in premarket trading Thursday after the data-software company forecast lower revenue growth than analysts had anticipated. Snowflake’s management expects $568 million to $573 million in product revenue in the first quarter, while the FactSet consensus called for $582 million. For the full year, Snowflake executives expect $2.705 billion in product revenue, representing 40% growth from a year before.
- Cryptocurrency-focused lender Silvergate Capital (NYSE:SI) warned it was delaying its annual report and said it was evaluating its ability to operate as a going concern on Wednesday, sending its shares down 30% in premarket trading Thursday.
- Wall Street expects Macy's, Inc. (NYSE:M) to post quarterly earnings at $1.57 per share on revenue of $8.25 billion before the opening bell. Macy's shares gained 1% to $20.64 in after-hours trading Wednesday.
- Analysts are expecting Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) to have earned $2.11 per share on revenue of $14.72 billion for the latest quarter. The company will release earnings before the markets open. Best Buy shares rose 0.9% to $83.26 in after-hours trading Wednesday.
- After the markets close, Costco Wholesale Corporation (NASDAQ:COST) is expected to post quarterly earnings of $3.21 per share on revenue of $55.53 billion. Costco shares slipped 0.5% to $476.14 in premarket trading Thursday.
- Analysts expect The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR) to post quarterly earnings at $0.89 per share on revenue of $34.88 billion before the opening bell. Kroger shares fell 0.1% to $43.36 in premarket trading Thursday.
