Tesla to Lay off 693 Employees in Nevada, Government Notice Says

Reuters04-27

(Reuters) - Tesla plans to lay off 693 employees at its facilities in Sparks, Nevada, a government notice showed, as part of its plan to cut more than 10% of its global workforce amid dropping sales and rising competition.

The notice was submitted to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation earlier this week.

A U.S. labor law requires companies with 100 or more employees to notify authorities 60 days ahead of planned closings or mass layoffs.

Tesla said earlier this month it will lay off 6,020 employees in Texas and California. The company's global headcount was over 140,000 in late 2023, according to a filing with U.S. regulators.

It will get worse before getting better, chances are the company can turn around once interest rate goes down, sales will shoot up together with its low cost model plus all other developments but will happen only in probably Mar 2025, report will show a positive return. Meanwhile, there will be increased losses due to research and developments, FSD issues, and new start up costs for other initiatives-and of course Elon's hefty pay if approved. The faster TSLA turn around, the faster they will see their revenue and profit margin improve. Meanwhile, TSLA investors-hang in there, buy more when it goes down further to 140 once more or lower ! Hold if you don't mind sacrificing opportunities you can earn/gain elsewhere!
