0104 GMT - Malaysia's benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index is 0.2% higher at 1582.86 in morning trade. Tech could draw particular buying interest after the Nasdaq index's gains overnight, coupled with Microsoft's announcement that it will invest $2.2 billion in AI infrastructure in Malaysia, Malacca Securities says in a note. Another sign of upward momentum is in KLCI's small-cap index, which reached a 52-week high this week. That could indicate further upside for the overall market, the brokerage reckons. Among gainers, FGV Holdings adds 0.7% and YTL Power International is up 0.9%. Meanwhile, Bumi Armada is down 1.7% and Press Metal Aluminium is 0.2% lower. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
