European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were edging up on Monday morning, up 0.1% to 1,439.10 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.
From continental Europe, the gainers were led by tech company Opera (OPRA) and food company Oatly (OTLY), which rose 4% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by petroleum refining company Equinor (EQNR), which climbed 1.8%.
The decliners from continental Europe were led by pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk (NVO) and Ascendis Pharma (ASND), which fell 2.9% and 2.6% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturer Grifols (GRFS), which dropped 2.5%.
From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by cryptocurrency miner Argo Blockchain (ARBK) and banking and financial services provider HSBC (HSBC), which rose 3.6% and 1.9% respectively.
The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biotech companies Autolus Therapeutics (AUTL) and Achilles Therapeutics (ACHL), which shed 6.2% and 3.9% respectively.
