Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Friday

Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Friday with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) 0.2% higher and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) 0.9% lower recently.

PDD Holdings' (PDD) shopping website Temu received a request from the European Commission for information on actions taken against the presence and reappearance of traders selling illegal products on its online marketplace. PDD Holdings shares were over 2% lower premarket.

Amazon.com (AMZN) is considering only wind and solar to offer renewable power for projects in Asia, Bloomberg reported. Amazon.com shares were 0.2% higher pre-bell.

La-Z-Boy (LZB) appointed Taylor Luebke as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Bob Lucian, who is retiring. La-Z-Boy shares were 0.8% higher premarket.
