African Gold (ASX:A1G) has commenced a 10,000m diamond drilling program at its Didievi Gold Project, marking the largest drilling campaign in the company's history.
The project is located in central Côte d'Ivoire, approximately 60km southeast of Yamoussoukro.
The drilling campaign will initially focus on the high-grade zone at Blaffo Guetto, which yielded a remarkable 65.0m at 5.6 g/t gold in recent tests.
In addition to Blaffo Guetto, the program aims to explore underexplored regional targets that have shown promising results in the past.
Management on site receives strong community support, highlighting the local enthusiasm for the project's progression.
The Didievi Project currently hosts a maiden inferred resource of 4.93Mt for 452koz of gold at 2.9 g/t.
Adam Oehlman, CEO of African Gold, said, "I am excited to announce that our 10,000m drill program has commenced, the largest in the company’s history. This substantial drilling initiative provides us with a unique opportunity to test the potential extensions of our known resources at Blaffo Guetto."
The Didievi Project benefits from strategic proximity to established infrastructure, ensuring easy access and facilitating rapid development.
The company anticipates that the results from this drilling program will significantly advance its exploration initiatives.
