US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St opens muted with inflation data in focus

Dec 9 (Reuters) - Wall Street's main indexes opened flat to lower on Monday, after the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq notched record closing highs in the previous session on upbeat corporate forecasts, while investors awaited a key inflation report this week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 4.5 points, or 0.01%, at the open to 44,637.97. The S&P 500 fell 7.3 points, or 0.12%, at the open to 6,083.01, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 35.7 points, or 0.18%, to 19,824.09 at the opening bell.
