Nvidia is beefing up its workforce in China as the American chip manufacturer focuses on chips for artificial intelligence-driven cars, Bloomberg News reported Thursday, citing people familiar with its operations.
Nvidia will increase its staff to 4,000 at the end of the year from 3,000 at the beginning of 2024, the report said.
The company added 200 staff in Beijing to help researchers with autonomous driving technology and grew its after-sales service and networking software development teams, according to the Bloomberg report.
The expansion is part of a worldwide effort to add manpower in the wake of high demand for artificial intelligence chips, the report said.
