Chinese EV Maker BYD Considers Germany for Assembly Plant, Reuters Reports, Citing Source

--Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD is considering Germany as the location of a potential third assembly plant in Europe, Reuters reports, citing an unnamed source.

--While Germany is BYD's top choice, the matter is being questioned internally because of the country's high labor and energy costs, and low productivity and flexibility, according to Reuters' source.

--BYD is currently building production sites in Hungary and Turkey.

--BYD did not immediately respond to Reuters's request for comment.
