Trump Administration Asks Nations for Best Offer on Trade Deals -- WSJ

The Trump administration asked countries to send their best offer on trade negotiations ahead of a self-imposed deadline in five weeks, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. The letter was earlier reported by Reuters, whose Monday story said the administration was looking for best offers by Wednesday.

"USTR sent this letter to all of our trading partners just to give them a friendly reminder that the deadline is coming up," Leavitt said. Trump had postponed some of his steepest tariffs until mid-July to make space for deals. "The president expects good deals, and we are on track for that."
