1231 ET - While most investors likely assumed a low probability of Couche-Tard securing a deal to buy 7-Eleven parent Seven & I, the decision to end the pursuit after nearly a year offers the definitive conclusion investors were probably looking for, BMO Capital Markets' Tamy Chen suggests. The analysts notes Couche-Tard's shares had been range-bound in recent weeks. Share buybacks should resume, and attention can now focus on the company's existing business which is still experiencing some pressures, Chen says. (robb.stewart@wsj.com)
