Grocery Stocks Fall After Amazon Expands Same-Day Delivery Service

Grocery stocks declined in recent Wednesday trading after Amazon.com (AMZN) said it is expanding its same-day delivery service to include fresh groceries in over 1,000 US cities and towns.

Walmart (WMT) fell 1.2%, Maplebear (CART) was down 10.5%, Kroger (KR) slipped 3.9%, Albertsons (ACI) dropped 3.3%, Target (TGT) slid 1.4%, and Costco Wholesale (COST) retreated 0.8%.

Amazon shares were up 1.2%.
