China's Top Trade Negotiator Li Says Reached Consensus with U.S After KL Trade Talks

BEIJING, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Economic officials from China and the U.S. reached a preliminary consensus after discussions on a range of issues including the extension of their trade truce, fentanyl and export controls, China's top trade negotiator Li Chenggang said in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Li, alongside Vice Premier He Lifeng, held talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to de-escalate a trade war on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit.

Li did not provide details on the agreed-upon issues and terms.
