MW Beyoncé just became a billionaire. Here's how she did it.

Beyoncé is just the fifth musical artist to achieve billionaire status, according to Forbes

Beyoncé's 2023 "The Renaissance World Tour" was one of the highest-grossing musical acts of all time.

Beyoncé just joined an exclusive list.

The musical artist is now worth over a billion dollars, according to a Monday report from Forbes, which tracks the net worth of the world's wealthiest people.

Unlike many other musical artists who have achieved billionaire status, Beyoncé's wealth is more tied to her actual music as opposed to outside investments or projects.

Beyoncé's 2023 "The Renaissance World Tour" was one of the highest-grossing musical acts of all time, making an estimated $600 million.

Beyoncé, 44, also released the "Cowboy Carter" album in 2024, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The music on the album was streamed so often that she made the equivalent of selling 407,000 albums in the U.S. during just its first week. "Cowboy Carter" was a big hit for Beyoncé, but it also led to a series of commercial opportunities for the pop star due to its country-music influences.

On the back of her album release, she played at the halftime show for one of the NFL's Christmas Day games on Netflix $(NFLX)$ in 2024, and later featured in ad campaigns for Levi's $(LEVI)$ based on one of her songs from the album.

She later went on the "Cowboy Carter" tour, which grossed more than $450 million in ticket and merchandise sales.

At the end of 2023, Forbes pegged Beyoncé's net worth at $800 million, meaning she increased her personal fortune by at least $200 million over the past two years alone.

One of the main reasons Beyoncé has been able to keep more of the money she makes is her unique management structure. Unlike many musical artists, Beyoncé manages her career through her company Parkwood Entertainment. Her team produces all of their own music, films, digital content and tours, paying for the costs up front in order to have more ownership and make more profit on the back end, according to Forbes.

She is the 22nd entertainer that Forbes has dubbed a billionaire, and just the fifth musician. Her husband Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna are the only other billionaire musicians.

Beyoncé also has some investments that helped her become a billionaire, including hair-care company Cécred and the whisky brand AirDavis, and she has had a brand deal with Adidas (XE:ADS), though it's unclear how much those have impacted her net worth.

From the archives: Is Taylor Swift the world's best boss? She's giving bonuses up to $100,000 to truck drivers, caterers and dancers who work on her Pro Eras Tour.

Tours from huge musical artists like Beyoncé and Swift are big money-makers for the singers, but they are not the only beneficiaries. Traveling musical tours can be a huge boost for local economies as Swift's Los Angeles concerts alone reportedly boosted the local economy by $320 million, and the two-year world tour generated an estimated $6.5 billion overall.

Beyoncé's "The Renaissance World Tour" reportedly created an estimated $4.5 billion boost to the American economy.
