European Oil Companies to Report Lower Prices, Higher Costs in Fourth Quarter -- Market Talk
Dow Jones01-07 17:24
0924 GMT - Europe's oil and gas companies are likely to be hit by lower prices and higher costs in their results for the fourth-quarter, UBS analysts write. The sector is expected to report higher volumes, they add. Refining margins will offer some earnings support but they failed to remain elevated across the whole period, they say. Additionally, they are expected to report weaker trading profits given many energy traders tend to take a risk-off approach at the end of the year, they say. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
