Qantas Airways Launches Economy Plus Seating Product

MT Newswires Live02-02 13:50

Qantas Airways (ASX: QAN) has launched an economy plus seating product, which has been made available for booking from Feb. 2 and will have its first flights on Feb. 6, the company said in a Monday statement.

The new seating has up to 40% more legroom with priority boarding and priority access to overhead baggage space.

The first flights offering the new Qantas Economy Plus seating product will take off on Feb. 6 on Boeing 737, Airbus A321XLR and A220 aircraft, operating across the national carrier's domestic network and to popular short-haul international destinations including New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Bali.

The company said that from mid-year, the seating product will expand to the airline's Airbus A330 fleet, covering more international routes, including destinations across Asia.

The pricing of the product will vary across front, main, and exit row seating, and by route, in addition to fare price, the statement added.

The company's shares rose 1% in recent Monday trade.
