Only One Dissent at Fed Meeting Was Mildly Surprising -- Market Talk
Dow Jones03-19 14:36
0636 GMT - One slight surprise at the Federal Reserve's policy meeting on Wednesday, where it held rates steady as expected, was that two dissenting officials in the past--Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman--were on board with a hold vote, with only Stephen Miran dissenting, Freedom Capital Markets' Jay Woods says in a note. The Fed's language showed virtually no change, except for "uncertainty" in the Middle East. "There seemed to be little notion in the statement that oil prices will be impactful," says the chief market strategist. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
