Hezbollah has fired over 2,000 projectiles at Israel since it resumed attacks after Iranian leader Ali Khamenei was killed on Feb. 28, military spokesman Nadav Shoshani said at a press briefing Thursday. The barrage has at times reached over 100 per day, he said.
Israel has killed 500 Hezbollah militants and 200 of its Radwan special forces, he said--including Hassan Ali Marwan, the head of a military division directed by Iran's elite Quds force--in an airstrike on Tuesday.
Marwan coordinated between the Imam Hussein Division he led and Hezbollah and Quds Force officials, and commanded missile and UAV strikes on Israeli soldiers and civilians, the Israeli military said. Israel killed his predecessor last week.
The Israeli military also said it had struck two bridges on the Litani river that it said Hezbollah was using to move personnel and weapons.
