Hegseth Says U.S. Has Sunk More Than 120 Ships -- WSJ

Dow Jones03-19 20:15

By Lara Seligman and Michael R. Gordon

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the U.S. has sunk more than 120 Iranian ships and struck over 7,000 targets across Iran. He repeated U.S. claims from last week Iranian ballistic missile attacks are down 90%. "The Iranians will still shoot, we know that, but they would shoot a lot more if they could," Hegseth said.

In his opening remarks, Hegseth didn't mention Iran's overnight attacks on Qatar's energy infrastructure, which sent oil prices spiralling upward.
