Singapore Dollar Weakens Slightly Amid Divergent Signals -- Market Talk
Dow Jones03-20 11:23
0323 GMT - The Singapore dollar weakens slightly against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session amid divergent signals. On one hand, markets have been weighing hopes for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, say Commerzbank Research analysts in a report. Meanwhile, Middle East hostilities seem to be escalating. Iran has ramped up attacks on regional energy infrastructure despite calls for restraint from the U.S. administration, the analysts note. The U.S. dollar is 0.1% higher at 1.2790 Singapore dollar, LSEG data show. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
