The U.S. and Israel have "different" objectives in the Iran war, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said during a House hearing Thursday.
"The objectives that have been laid out by the president are different from the objectives that have been laid out by the Israeli government," she said under questioning from Rep. Joaquin Castro (D, Texas). "We can see through the operations that the Israeli government has been focused on disabling the Iranian leadership," she said, while adding that President Trump wants to destroy Tehran's military capabilities.
Gabbard said she didn't know if Israel supports Trump's desire for a deal with Iran. Asked about Israel's attacks on Iranian energy sites, she added: "I'm not privy to any of their deliberations or what went into their calculus in launching this or other attacks."
