Lawmakers in the European Parliament agreed to move forward on ratifying the bloc's trade deal with the U.S. after a series of delays.
Members of the parliament's trade committee voted on Thursday to progress on pieces of legislation that would put tariff-related aspects of the EU-U.S. trade deal into effect.
The committee vote sets the stage for a second parliamentary vote to ratify the agreement.
The parliament's ratification process was put on hold last month following a Supreme Court ruling that deemed some of Trump's so-called reciprocal global tariffs illegal. Lawmakers previously paused their work on the deal after Trump threatened to impose tariffs on some European countries over his bid to acquire Greenland.
