Cosco Shipping Holdings reported a lower 2025 net profit due to weaker revenue from its container shipping business.
Full-year net profit dropped 37% to 30.86 billion yuan, equivalent to US$4.47 billion, the Shanghai-based container shipping services company said Friday.
Full-year revenue fell 6.1% to CNY219.50 billion.
The container shipping market experienced overall fluctuating and declining freight rates during the year, due to factors including macroeconomic conditions and changes in supply-demand dynamics, it said.
Revenue from its container shipping business during the year declined 6.7% to CNY210.73 billion.
The container shipping industry will remain complex and uncertain for the year ahead, the company said.
The ongoing global geopolitical tensions and the uncertain outlook for the Middle East will amplify the volatility of global supply chains, it added.
