Oil Price Forecasts For 2026-27 Raised at UBS -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-20 22:45

1045 ET - UBS boosts its near-term oil price forecasts for 2026-27 to reflect the Strait of Hormuz closure and extended Middle East hostilities. UBS lifts the price of a barrel of oil by $14 to $86 for 2026. For 2027, it increases the estimate by $10 to $80 per barrel. "This is based on an assumption that the conflict continues for another 2-3 weeks until early April and that flows via the Strait of Hormuz remain severely reduced," analysts say in a research note. "We assume no damage to major fields or terminals and a gradual resumption of flows via Hormuz from April, but not full normalization." (connor.hart@wsj.com)
