Automakers' 1Q Earnings Could Give Clues to EV Comeback -- Market Talk
Dow Jones03:25
1525 ET - Automakers' 1Q earnings may give signals of a possible recovery for U.S. electric vehicles, TD Cowen analysts write in a note. EV penetration in March for Tesla, Lucid, and Rivian was at the highest level since the expiration of EV tax credits, they note, with momentum appearing to continue into April. "While companies likely won't have a ton of new info to share on the EV front, we'll be curious on what they're seeing with respect to various leading demand indicators," the analysts write. "If management teams convey an even slightly more bullish tone on the US EV market, we don't think that will be overlooked." (elias.schisgall@wsj.com)
